History

The surface of this sports track is made of graywackeaggregrate, which came to Abu Dhabi from a quarry in Shropshire England. The designer of the circuit is Hermann Tilke.

The Yas Marina Circuit is located centrally in Yas Island, conveniently close to the Abu Dhabi International Airport.

How to reach Yas Marina Circuit?

The best and the fastest way to reach Yas Island by taxi will take you 22 minutes and the cost is AED 60 – 75. There is no direct bus service from Abu Dhabi to Yas Island.

  • It will take twenty-eight minutes from Abu Dhabi Corniche to the Yas Marina Circuit. You can go along Corniche Street and then reach Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Highway, E 12, across the Saadiyat Island and then join the Al Falah Road. Then leave the road to follow Al Athari Street and follow the signs to reach your destination.
  • From Saadiyat Island to Yas Marina Circuit it should take you 23 minutes. Join the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Highway, E 12, and then take the highway towards the east and just before taking the AlFalah Road, follow the signs to reach the venue.
  • From Abu Dhabi International Airport, it takes only 10 minutes by car. Go along Al Khaleej Arabi Street, take right at Al Rahah Street and then go on to the Yas Dr Street in Yas Plaza, the Yas Marina Circuit is right in front.
